Since 1990, Vivera has been a pioneer in developing vegetarian and plant-based meal components, growing into one of the largest producers in Europe. The current supermarket range mainly consists of meat substitutes designed to replicate the texture and flavour of meat, but Vivera is now aiming to inspire even more people to embrace plant-based eating and it’s natural appeal.

Food By Design had the privilege of guiding the Vivera team through a consumer-focused innovation journey. Using a clear strategy foundation, an inspiring trend presentation, a consumer studio, and creative brainstorming sessions, we co-created the ‘protein bites’. With this, Vivera introduces a new category of meal enrichers that do not resemble meat and are entirely made from natural protein sources, with vegetables, legumes, and grains taking centre stage. The bites are rich in protein and fibre, featuring a complete amino acid profile and a Nutri-Score A rating. This combination offers consumers a meal enricher in the plant-based section, without any reference to meat.
